I owned a 68 Custom Deluxe RI for a while now and after some experimentation with different tubes it perform extremely well. I don't want to just feel like I'm being picky but the amp was expensive. An audio clip of the same or similar fender amp with the reverb turned up would be very helpful as well so I have something to compare it to. I haven't owned any amps with tube driven reverb before so I'm not sure if it's just the way it goes or I just keep getting poorly manufactured units.Īnyone with a similar problem who found a fix and could help would be amazing. I really don't have any problem with the white noise from the tubes when the amp is cranked up, it's sounds pleasing to my ears actually but the reverb hum is really irritating. I could try again with Amazon and replace with another unit and see if I get lucky or I may just return it and see if I can get a good unit off the floor from guitar center. I'm a little frustrated as I love the sound of the amp but the hum is difficult to deal with when recording especially at lower volumesĪny help would be appreciated. I tried every outlet in my apartment as well as lifting the ground with a plug adapter One combination actually gives off a loud static feedback when volume is close to ten and reverb is close to 10 I swapped tubes around between the two amps and some combinations cleaned things up a tiny bit and some made it a bit worse. The was a slight difference but very minimal. removing the reverb tank and swapping the cheap rca cable and placing the tank far away from the amp. So I received a replacement from Amazon but that unit also suffers from the same problem as well as a low level buzzing with everything at zero. Hitting the foot switch I couldn't hear a difference when turned on / off. I recently stopped by a guitar center and took a listen to a floor model and was shocked that the amp was dead quiet with reverb up to 10. Reading up I see a lot of procedures suggested but it seems like once the problem is solved the post dies and what worked is not clearly stated. My issue is the reverb channel having a considerable amount of hum when turned up past 2. Hi guys, I've searched around and know there are quality control issues with these amps and some of you have had similar problems with humming and buzzing in brand new units.
